The Center for Iranian Music Statement of Purpose                                         فارسی ↓

Iranian civilization is one of the oldest in the world.  The history of Iranian music spans thousands of years, and music has played an important role in the continuation and preservation of this ancient culture. The goal of the Center for Iranian Music will be the conservation and propagation of this great musical tradition.

Cultures of the world are interconnected and flow to each other like the waters of the oceans and no culture can claim to be a “super culture”. Therefore, one of the important aims of the Center For Iranian Music will be the creation of ways and channels in which dialogues between the Iranian musical culture and different musical traditions of the world may be achieved.
